Insurance Men, Greg Milam and Robert Morgan-Wilde will speak at the Power Breakfast
on May 21st at Royal Reed's in Jackson, TN.
A longtime member of the African American Chamber, Greg Milam operates his insurance office at 1010 Greystone in Jackson. He is a graduate of Tennessee State University who has been recognized as a State Farm Legion of Honor Qualifier, Honor Agent Qualifier, and National Convention Qualifier and is a member of the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors. He is a current member of the West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Trustees and Kiwanis Club and has served as board president of the Jackson Area Chamber, board chairman of Jackson YMCA, and vice-chairman of the Jackson-Madison County Library Board.
Robert Morgan-Wilde is an insurance producer for chamber member Golden Circle Insurance Agency, the successor to the Brownsville’s iconic Golden Circle Life Insurance Agency (1958-2002). A Journalism graduate of Riverside Community College and San Francisco State University, Morgan-Wilde Morgan-Wilde began his journalism career at the Jackson Sun, and continued at the Tallahassee Democrat. He then worked for Prudential Securities/Wachovia Securities for 11 years. He serves on the board of the Brownsville/Haywood County Chamber and is a charter member of the West Tennessee Business & Community Leaders Network. Licensed in life, health & accident, property, and casualty insurance, he has been with Golden Circle Insurance Agency since 2009. The company maintains offices in Brownsville and Jackson.

dison County African American Chamber of Commerce presented its 11th Annual JEWEL Awards Banquet on Friday, February 24, 2012. The great young singers and dancers from Memphis' Stax Music Academy, carrying on the Stax Records tradition, wowed us along with a special appearance by Kirk Whalum, the Grammy Award-winning CEO of Soulsville Foundation.
The Jewel Awards Banquet recognizes outstanding Black business owners and entrepreneurs. 2012 winners of the contemporary awards were ABOUNDING IN MINISTRIES for the Ruby Award, GIBBS HEATING AND COOLING, HARDEMAN COUNTY FUNERAL HOME for the Emerald Award and the top winner HUTCHERSON ACCOUNTING SERVICES for the Jewel Award!
We also recognized Historical Pioneer Entrepreneurs for the medical and insurance arena - DR. JOHN FRIERSON along with WILLIAM FULLER of UNIVERSAL LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY and the late CHARLES ALLEN RAWLS of GOLDEN CIRCLE LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY.

Tennessee Two Seaters and AT&T teams take First Place honors,
Bancorp South team members score Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive awards
JACKSON, Tenn. (September 14, 2011) – Eleven teams competed in the First Annual Celebrity Golf Classic hosted by the Jackson Madison County African American Chamber of Commerce (JMCAACC) on Tuesday, September 13, at Bent Tree Golf Course. The tournament raised funds for the Follow Me Into Business® youth development program. Awards were presented for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in two flights.
The Tennessee Two Seaters team with Stephen C. Brooks, Bill Johnson, Kenny Knox and Bobby Morgan earned First Place in Flight One. Following in Second Place was the Bancorp South team of Chester Sharp, Burt Carloss, Melvin Brown and Andy Morris. The City of Jackson team with Sam Dawson, Mike Malone, Charles Gentry and Councilman Ernest Brook II won Third Place in the first flight. Andy Morris scored a Hole in One on #14 while Melvin Brown won the award for Longest Drive. Although #14 was not one of the Par 3 holes designated for prizes, Morris earned the award for the Closest to the Pin Contest.
In the Second Flight, the AT&T team with Trey Rabon, Mike Pace, Hardeman County Mayor Willie Spencer, and Bolivar Hardeman County NAACP president Monroe Woods took First Place. They were followed in Second Place by the West Tennessee Healthcare team of Marty Fordham, David Evans, Adam Crews and Riann VanWyk. A Memphis team, Jerry Hall and Friends won awards for Third Place in the second flight. This team consists of Shelby County Land Bank official Jerry Hall, Shelby County Commission Chairman Sidney Chism, transportation company executive Vernon Grose and State Rep. G.A.
